What is the NEET exam?

Neet stood for national eligibility cum entrance test and was conducted by the national testing agency. It was conducted in 13 languages in pen and paper mode. NEET was an entrance examination for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS and other medical courses recognized by medical colleges like AIIMS and JIPMER. The counseling of NEET  was announced by MCC (medical counseling committee). The counseling contains four rounds round 1, round 2, the mop-up round, and the last one was the stray vacancy round. There are specific changes in the NEET exam which are listed below :

The 20 minutes has increased the duration of the NEET Exam; now, the exam will be conducted for three hours and 20 minutes. Application fees were increased by INR 100. The three factors have been added to the tie-breaking formula. The exam cities have been increased to 543 in India and 14 Abroad.

NEET EXAM ELIGIBILITY

  • The minimum marks required for general are 50 % and 40% for SC/ST/OBC
  • The NEET exam is vital for both Indian as well as and overseas students for admission to any recognized university
  • The minimum age required was 17 years, and there is no maximum age limit.
  • The student only appears in the NEET examination if the candidate completed the class 12th
  • The student also appears who Passed B.Sc. with any two of the Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology from an Indian University, and the student Passed the first year of the University’s three years degree course in PCB.
